Its bulging mirror eyeballs stare, its mouth\u2014made of a truck\u2019s grill\u2014looks ready for a bite.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/dragonfly-face.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-133\" title=\"dragonfly-face\" src=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/dragonfly-face.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"434\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/dragonfly-face.jpg 434w, https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/dragonfly-face-300x211.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 434px) 100vw, 434px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next to this artful insect is a gigantic dragonfly in a garden of enormous metal flowers and a huge spider web with bicycle wheel spokes incorporated into the artwork. The artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Lieutenant-Mustardseed\/277653906681\">LT Mustardseed <\/a>uses found objects, welded metal and automotive paints to create her sculptures, installed as public art in Santa Clarita, the Autry Museum and now residing in Highland Park.\u00a0\u00a0A little hand-painted sign says to reach\u00a0her at <a href=\"mailto:Dragonflysculptures@yahoo.com\">Dragonflysculptures@yahoo.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/spider-garden.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-134\" title=\"spider-garden\" src=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/spider-garden.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"421\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/spider-garden.jpg 421w, https:\/\/robertacruger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/spider-garden-300x213.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of animal art, today I also visited <a href=\"http:\/\/goldbugpasadena.com\">Gold Bug<\/a> in Pasadena with my friend, artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gretagrigorian.com\/\">Greta Grigorian<\/a>. It&#8217;s one of my favorite stores. It&#8217;s like an eccentric Cabinet of Curiosity filled with\u00a0fascinating art, intriguing gifts and eerie stuff, from\u00a0Steampunk clothing to butterflies, bugs and bats, as well as gorgeous jewelry, botanical items,\u00a0graphite sculptured pencils, and much more.
